Description
FRANCE. Collection of mint and some cancelled stamps, in francs, in 9 Presidence albums in havana coloured slipcases. Years 1849 to 1999. The 7 albums from 1950 to 1999 (mint stamps) are almost complete: a few are missing, mainly the CNEP blocks, the 1954 Metric System, the 1956 Stamp Day, the 1964 Philatec block of 4, the 2.30 frs rouge Carnet from 1990, or the 150th anniversary block of the first postage stamp (1999). The 1940-1949 album (mint stamps and a few rare cancelled stamps) has several gaps. There is also an LVF plate and two blocks of charity stamps for our war victims. The 1849-1939 album (mint and cancelled stamps) is the most incomplete, particularly the years prior to 1900. Emblematic stamps such as the 5 frs violet-gris Napoléon III are missing, but there is the Congrès philathélique de Bordeaux 1923 (mint, gummed, trace of hinges) and the PEXIP block 1937 (mint, gummed, slight traces of hinges).
