Paris, Rothschild, 1870–1874. 2 volumes, in-8, green half-shagreen, spine with 4 decorated raised bands, gilt edges (contemporary binding, out of block). A fine publication on plants with colourful foliage, containing 120 colour plates and 120 woodcuts within the text. Charles Naudin (1815–1899), a botanist, was one of the founders of genetics. Ex-libris on the reverse of the half-titles: to Mr and Mrs Danel. Minor defects to the binding, pinholes; sold as is.
