MONGITORE, Antonino (1663–1743). General Parliaments of the Kingdom of Sicily from the year 1446 to 1748. Palermo: Pietro Bentivenga, 1749. First edition of this important collection devoted to the Parliaments of the Kingdom of Sicily, compiled by the Palermitan canon and historian Antonino Mongitore and published posthumously with additions and notes by Francesco Serio Mongitore. The work brings together the proceedings and deliberations of the Sicilian Parliaments from 1446 to 1748, preceded by an extensive treatise on the history of parliamentary institutions in the principal European states and, in particular, on the origins, development and functioning of the Sicilian Parliament.
