[LAW]. A group of three legal works from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
An interesting collection devoted to the history of law and political institutions, comprising two works by Carlo Sigonio (1524–1584), one of the foremost scholars and antiquarians of the sixteenth century, dealing respectively with the history of the Kingdom of Italy and the legal institutions of ancient Rome, together with Hugo Grotius’s (1583–1645) celebrated *De jure belli ac pacis*, a seminal work in the development of modern international law.
