An interesting pair of classics in medicine and pharmacology, representative of the rediscovery and transmission of ancient medical knowledge during the Renaissance.
LAGUNA. 16mo (115 × 70 mm). Printer’s mark on the title-page, engraved initials. Contemporary soft vellum binding (slightly detached). [WITH:] CELSUS. 8vo (150 × 100 mm). Missing the final leaf with the colophon. Late eighteenth-century boards, spine label lettered with the title, blue-speckled edges. Provenance: numerous early inscriptions on the title-page, one signed Jhoan. Rhodius Danus and dated April 1626. (2)
