EDY LEGRAND (1892-1970), Édouard Léon Louis Warschawsky dit,Sketches of Andalusian landscapes on 2 sheets, ink and watercolour, unsigned, 35x53cm. French illustrator and painter who illustrated more than 150 works including The Bible, Faust, DANTE, Shakespeare, Albert CAMUS, PAGNOL... He exhibited alongside Picasso, Matisse, Derain and Albert Marquet and from the early 1920s at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Indépendants and the Société des Artistes Décorateurs. An orientalist, a friend of Jacques Majorelle, he spent 20 years in Morocco, passing through Andalusia, and painted canvases with quivering matter... Exhibitions in Paris, New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, Spain and Morocco. His works can be seen at Beaubourg Edy LEGRAND French painter and illustrator of more than 150 works, including The Bible, Faust, DANTE, Shakespeare, Albert CAMUS, PAGNOL...
