French painter, engraver and illustrator known for his etchings. A pupil of Jean Gigoux, Maxime Lalanne painted urban views and landscapes of France and Europe. He produced around 200 etchings and forty lithographs.
His works can be found in the collections of the Louvre, the British Museum, the MET in New York and, of course, the Musée des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux and other French museums.
