Antoine Alfred Agénor de Gramont, Duke of Guiche, later 10th Duke of Gramont (1855), Prince of Bidache, was a French diplomat and politician born on 14 August 1819 in Paris and died on 17 January 1880 in Paris.
After a turbulent youth [Alexandre Dumas fils drew inspiration from his love affair with Marie Duplessis to write *La Dame aux camélias*], he entered the diplomatic service and was appointed Ambassador to the Holy See in 1857. He subsequently became Minister for Foreign Affairs under Napoleon III.
