Second edition of this history of the Camisard revolt, which began in 1702 following the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1685). It was written by Antoine Court (1696–1760), who attended the ‘Assemblées du Désert’ and presided over the first clandestine synod of the churches of the Cévennes and Languedoc. He was one of the principal figures in the restoration of Protestantism in France.
The introductory pieces and the note are by the Reverend Samuel Vincent.
