This decree, issued on 14 May 1610, following the death of Henry IV—who was assassinated by Ravaillac on 14 May 1610—established Marie de Médicis “Regent of France to administer the affairs of the Kingdom, during the minority of the said Lord, her son, with full power and authority”.
