Provenance: the artist’s studio; passed down through the family. Paul Le Goff submitted this plaster work to the Destouches Delage and Roux competition organised by the Académie des Beaux-Arts. The subject is ‘Winter’. It was honoured by the Institut de France, which awarded it first prize. The following year, it was awarded a third-class silver medal at the Salon.
