Fernand MORIN (1878–1937) The entrance to the harbour at Pont-Aven Pointillist oil on canvas, signed lower right Bears an exhibition label in the top right-hand corner Signs of wear, craquelure, small areas of missing paint, re-stretched Dimensions: 46 cm x 75 cm Originally from the Vendée, Fernand Morin met the painter Pierre-Eugène Clairin during the Great War: “ ...As a pilot in No. 219 Squadron during the war, our artist was Fernand Morin, a painter from the Vendée and a friend of Moret’s, who lived in a studio on the quayside at Pont-Aven. It was he who persuaded me to choose Pont-Aven as the place where I was demobilised in 1919. Through him too – a friend of Maître Correlleau – I met Ernest Correlleau on his return from captivity.
