Marc Chagall’s illustrations for the story ‘Odyssey’ pay homage to Homer’s epic. Chagall himself visited Greece on two occasions and was greatly inspired by
ancient mythological motifs during his travels.

Limited edition of 2,500 copies, printed as lithographs with 8 to 12 colour passes for each plate in order to perfectly reproduce the finesse of the original edition.
To ensure wider distribution of this work, which was very dear to Chagall, his wife Vava oversaw this second edition in 1989 (following the Mourlot edition of 1974 – Catalogue
raisonné Mourlot 749–830).
