An ivory figure (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or
Loxodonta cyclotis), carved to depict the Lion of Lucerne resting on the
coat of arms of Switzerland, on a rectangular plinth engraved and inked with the words: ‘Treu bis zum
Tod’, supported by a stepped plinth.

Specimen composed wholly or partly of proboscidean elephantidae ivory
SPP (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) listed in
Appendix I/A of CITES/EU.
In accordance with the regulatory provisions in force within the
European Union (Regulation (EU) No 2021/2280 of 16 December 2021), the item will be delivered to
the purchaser together with its Intra-Community Certificate FR2601700322-K
issued by the DREAL Nouvelle-Aquitaine on 19 June 2026, attached to the expert’s report drawn up
by Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, a court-appointed expert in works of art
composed of materials derived from biodiversity, and an approved agent.
Export outside the EU is prohibited, except to state-run cultural institutions upon
presentation of supporting documentation. In the event of transport, the specimen must be accompanied by
this valuation report.
