Carved elephant ivory okimono (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis), depicting a gardener holding a peony, with a toad and a praying mantis at his feet, resting on an oval base signed on the underside. Damage Japan, first third of the 20th century Total height: 14.5 cm Weight: 163 g CIC no. FR26017003238-K EXPERT: Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, court-appointed expert at the Amiens Court of Appeal, approved assessor for works of art made from materials derived from biodiversity. Specimen composed wholly or partly of elephantid proboscidean ivory SPP (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) listed in Appendix I/A of CITES/EU. In accordance with the regulatory provisions in force within the European Union (Regulation (EU) No 2021/2280 of 16 December 2021), the item will be delivered to the purchaser together with its Intra-Community Certificate No. FR26017003238-K issued by the DREAL Nouvelle-Aquitaine on 3 July 2026, attached to the expert report drawn up by Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, a court-appointed expert in works of art composed of materials derived from biodiversity, and an approved agent. Export outside the EU is prohibited, except to state cultural institutions upon presentation of supporting documentation.
