Description
Michel BOYER (1935–2018) Brasilia model, 1974 Lamp with a cubic base in black lacquered steel, metal frame. Bilobed shade in ecru fabric. The top element is missing, limiting the upward spread of light. A few stains and slight imperfections are visible on the lampshade. The light fitting is in working order. Dimensions: 70 × 24 × 24 cm A French interior architect and designer who was particularly active in the 1970s, Michel Boyer carried out major commissions, notably for the Rothschild Bank, L’Oréal, and the fashion houses Dior and Balmain. This piece was designed for the interior fit-out of the French Embassy in Brazil. The model is part of the Brasilia series, comprising various styles of chandeliers and light fittings. Produced by Verres Lumières, then distributed by Société Rouve, founded by Michel Boyer.
