Hourglass known as an ‘organ case’, made of glass and wood Each vial is made of glass, with a wax seal and white fabric used to seal the whole assembly The elapsed times are indicated by the numbers on the vials The whole assembly is mounted within a wooden frame with a brass mechanism that allows the vials to be rotated The hourglasses still contain fine sand (set by the passage of time) Late 17th century – Later assembly H. 35.5 cm (frame rebuilt in blackened wood)
