Description
An extremely rare collection of Polymita picta snails displayed in a glass and stained wood cage (late 19th-century cage) The name, derived from Greek and meaning ‘many painted stripes’, refers to snails endemic to Cuba, considered the most beautiful in the world, with each shell being unique. They live year-round high up in the trees, in the canopy, and come down once a year to breed H. 31 cm – W. 38.5 cm – D. 32 cm CITES certificate obtained on 13/02/2025. For any export from the EU, a re-export document will be required, the cost of which is to be borne by the buyer
