Note: The E.J. Arnold company was founded by Edmund James Arnold (born in 1840) in 1863. Initially, the business was a printing works and publishing house. When it moved to Leeds, around 1870, the company began producing globes for schools. It quickly became renowned for its educational products. In 1918, Edmund’s son, George, took over the business and ran it until the 1950s. The company closed its doors in 1991.
