Description
Jean-Charles de Castelbajac designed a T-shirt dress featuring the Madonna, as part of his "Hommages aux portraits" collection, which he created in the early 1980s. The short-sleeved, sailor-striped dress features a pointillist offset print representing all the Madonnas, from the Virgin to the Statue of Liberty, with a floral crown reminiscent of universal Madonnas such as that of Frida Khalo. The bust features a sewn-on application of mauve glass diamond cabochons for the celestial crown. The back is entirely sequined with purple sequins in neo-Gothic script indicating Medieval. Dress in mint condition with its shop cards and white satin label with black graphics indicating JC de Castelbajac, size M. Years 2010-2020. Expert : Serge LIAGRE
