Illustration based on a work by Henri Gabriel Ibels (1867–1936). Dry stamp of Les Maîtres de l’Affiche. The poster was intended to promote Jules Mévisto, whose real name was Jules Wisteaux. An actor, chansonnier and singer all in one, he followed in the footsteps of those iconic artists who performed in Parisian café-concerts, such as Aristide Bruant, who was all the rage during the Belle Époque. - Cadet Roussel.
