Description
Marseille, FAUCHIER workshop, 18th century, attributable, formerly attributed to MONTPELLIER. Small earthenware jar with lid, decorated in shades of blue beneath the handle within a scroll bearing the pharmaceutical inscription ‘S. de. Arthemis’, surrounded by foliage and fruit. The handle is decorated with the Franciscan emblem and foliage. Circa 1736. H. 33 cm. (lid broken and re-glued, chips, chipping to the rim).
