Description
Ewer, its lid and its basin in fine Pont-aux-Choux earthenware from the 18th century. The pewter mounting is later. Baluster-shaped, decorated with a large frieze of gadroons set against a "grains of rice" background in reserves, the lid with a gadrooned shell. (Small crack to the lid and small chip to the heel of the ewer; chips, minor wear).
