SARREGUEMINES Majolica. Tobacco pot in polychrome slip with relief decoration of a chained pig awaiting its execution while proudly displaying a gold medal. This is a pictorial representation of the expression "The Tarpeian Rock is near the Capitol", inscribed on the base. Stamped and numbered "481". Circa 1880. Height 15.5 cm (a hair under the base; slight chips, mainly around the ears; lid missing).
