Description
MICHAEL JACKSON A life-size wax statue, created by the Musée Grévin workshops and approved by the artist. Two copies of the statue were made: The first will remain at Grévin following the unveiling ceremony, which Michael Jackson attended on 19 April 1997, whilst the second, at the artist’s request, will be used for the professional, global launch of the eyewear range bearing his name, produced by Gomé, part of the Albin Paget Group, a manufacturer of eyewear. The launch was orchestrated in September 1997, with the second wax statue exhibited in the 71 countries where opticians’ trade fairs were taking place. This wax figure was very well received and helped to promote the brand and the Michael Jackson-signed eyewear collection worldwide between 1997 and 2001. The Albin Paget Group and Gomé, the companies that manufactured the MJ eyewear, have now ceased trading. A wax figure dressed in a suit provided by Michael Jackson. Height: 1.75 cm.
