Description
JOHNNY HALLYDAY An original bronze cast, created by the sculptor Bruno Dubois in 1982 at the rocker’s request and to mark his upcoming concerts at the Palais des Sports in Paris in 1982. In fact, the producers had planned to install a gigantic statue, over 8 metres tall, at the entrance to the venue so that the audience would enter by passing between the artist’s legs. It was in the context of this project that the sculptor took a cast of Johnny Hallyday’s face at the artist’s home. A project that was ultimately abandoned. A life-size cast of the face set within a helmet, an element of the show. A museum piece, entitled ‘The Survivor 82’, numbered I/IV and signed by the sculptor.
