Newborn presentation basket, c. 1900 A wicker basket lined with cream-coloured muslin, edged with a ruffle of embroidery and lace and a ruffled ribbon all round. The interior is lined with small pockets, two lightly padded inserts and a veil embroidered in plumetis with the initial ‘M’ beneath a viscount’s crown. There are a few small stains on the veil.
