The banquet given by Dido in honour of Aeneas
A tapestry woven in wool and silk after cartoons by Isaac Moillon (1614–1673), depicting numerous guests seated around a table laid out in the great hall of the queen’s palace in Carthage. On the right, Aeneas recounts to Dido the story of the flight from Troy and his shipwreck. Border of foliage, tulips and poppies. Lined, with standard restorations.
