Description
180. Late Louis XVI-period green morocco leather wallet Stamped with the ‘Canal de Berry’ mark in small iron stamps. The flap is trimmed with red morocco leather, embossed with a pattern of flowers and foliage. No key. Damage The Canal de Berry, 320 km long, was first mentioned as early as 1484 and was finally constructed between 1808 and 1840. Numerous attempts were envisaged, including one in 1780 proposed by the Duke of Charost.
