Description
Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢) Orpheus of the Lyre Two drawings created using graphite and coloured pencils, as used in the production of the anime based on the work of Masami Kurumada (車田・正美) - Shingo Araki (荒木 伸吾). Produced by Toei Animation Hades OVA 2002–2008, Japan H24.3 L27 cm Orpheus of the Lyre is a unique character in the mythology of Saint Seiya: he first appears in the first feature film (1987) as a Silver Saint resurrected by the goddess Eris — a non-canonical version — before a canonical version, Lyra Orpheus, appeared in the Hades OAVs (2002–2008). His design was directly reused for the God Warrior Mime in the Asgard arc. This set of two dôgas is particularly valuable as it allows us to see two poses of the same character within a single sequence of movement — a rare find for a character who exists only in limited-release productions (theatrical films or OAVs).
