Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢) Ikki of the Phoenix Artwork created using graphite and coloured pencils, used in the production of the anime based on the work of Masami Kurumada (車田・正美) - Shingo Araki (荒木 伸吾). Produced by Toei Animation Elysion chapter from the Hades OVA series, 2007–2008, Japan H26 L23 cm In this final arc, the five Bronze Saints inherit the Gold Armours of the fallen Gold Saints — Ikki takes that of one of the Twelve — to pass through the gates of Paradise and face Hades himself. This is the only instance in the entire franchise where Ikki, clad in his Gold Armour, faces divine adversaries wielding celestial shields, which he must physically repel before counter-attacking. This production is to be distinguished from the TV series, featuring superior visual standards and far fewer available production materials, as OAVs have a much smaller production volume than a weekly TV series.
