Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢) Oko Original animation cel in graphite and coloured pencils, created for the animation, based on the work of Masami Kurumada (車田・正美) and Shingo Araki (荒木 伸吾) Produced by Toei Animation Asgard Arc, 1988, Japan H24 L27 cm Oko is the French name for Fenrir (Alioth Epsilon), the God Warrior of the star Alioth — raised by wolves after being abandoned, unable to trust humans. His story arc is one of the most melancholic in the Asgard arc: he dies alone, joined in death by his pack. His design incorporates wolf-like elements (fur, claws) which posed particular artistic challenges for the animators, who were accustomed to the metallic armour of *Saint Seiya*. A character exclusive to the anime.
