Executed in ink and gouache on an original gouache background. Produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha (TMS Entertainment) 1969, Japan H19.5, L27.5 cm Kamui Gaiden is a 26-episode series broadcast in 1969 on Fuji TV, produced by TCJ (the predecessor of Eiken) — the same year as Dororo. Based on the manga by Sanpei Shirato, whose Marxist political convictions left a deep mark on the work, the series tells the story of a ninja from the Edo period who has fled his clan and is relentlessly hunted down by his former brothers.
