Produced by TMS 1980–1981, Japan H26.5 L23 cm It all begins here. Adapted from Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s manga, first published in 1956, Tetsujin 28-gō — known in France as Gigantor — is the first giant robot in the history of Japanese animation. The metal colossus, remotely controlled by the young Shōtarō Kaneda, laid the foundations for an entire genre: the idea that a child can harness colossal power, and that man and machine form a decisive alliance. These celluloid reproductions, produced by the studios themselves as prestige items, are fascinating hybrids between production documents and commemorative works.
