Description
Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボールZ) Krillin Hand-painted celluloid sheet on a printed background, used in the production of the Dragon Ball anime, based on the work of Akira Toriyama (鳥山 明). Executed in ink and gouache. Produced by Toei Animation 1986–1989, Japan H23 26.5 cm Krillin has been Son Goku’s best friend since their childhood together under the tutelage of Master Roshi — and is the most powerful human character in the entire series. His journey in Dragon Ball Z is that of a man who gradually comes to terms with his limitations in the face of cosmic adversaries, whilst never ceasing to fight alongside them. This cel on a printed background dates from the 1989–1996 TV series — the franchise’s longest-running animated production, covering the Saiyan, Frieza, Cell and Buu arcs. Krillin is the human character with the most consistent presence in the animation, and he enjoyed considerable popularity amongst French audiences in the 1990s.
