Hunter × Hunter (ハンター×ハンター) Isaac Netero Hand-painted celluloid sheet used in the production of the Hunter × Hunter anime, based on the work of Yoshihiro Togashi (冨樫 義博). Executed in ink and gouache. Produced by Nippon Animation 1999–2001, Japan H28 L38 cm Isaac Netero is the President of the Hunters’ Association — the most powerful character in the Hunter × Hunter universe throughout the original series’ story arcs. A frail-looking old man whose fighting technique — the Hundred-Handed Bodhisattva — is amongst the most spectacular in Japanese animation, he embodies the figure of the master who has taken his art to a level beyond that of ordinary humans. This cell from Netero is a rare artefact of a character whose fight scenes were among the most complex to animate in the Nippon Animation production.
