Obligatory Expedition - Auguste RODIN (1840-1917) (after) Damned under a blanket of lead Engraving (heliogravure retouched with point) and enhanced with watercolour On wove paper 42.5 x 31 cm Engraving published in 1897 by Ateliers Goupil Limited edition of 125 copies, supplied with a certificate of authenticity from the gallery and a photocopy of the publisher's proof of print run. Very good condition, slight tears at the edge of the margins and light freckling in the margins. Information : This engraving is part of "Album Fenaille" or "Album Goupil", a work devoted to the drawings of Auguste Rodin, published in 1897. It contains a majority of drawings relating to Dante's Inferno, generally referred to as the "black drawings". A copy of this precious album can be found in the archives of the Musée Rodin.
