The lid fastening, which features a rubber ring to ensure a watertight seal, is further reinforced by a metal screw mechanism, which is missing here. (Bridou) Lid missing. H 12.5 cm Tobacco jar, identical in shape to the previous one, made of cream-glazed stoneware with a gold border, featuring a light brown decoration designed to imitate wicker. The lid, also lined with rubber, closes using a clasp identical to that of the previous and following jars. 20th century Mark: ‘made in France’ and ‘L Brisdoux’ or ‘Brisdon’* with the number 260. *Lucien Brisdon, circa 1930–1940, referenced in Edgar Peiche’s *La céramique Art Déco* (Bridou) Lid missing.
