Around his neck, a cherry-coloured neckerchief bears the motto of the movement founded by Lord Baden Powell in 1917: ‘Be Prepared’, which would suggest that this piece was intended for the British market.
Early 20th-century porcelain (after 1907)
Marked on the base with ‘H&S’, standing for:
- either Hilditch & Sons of Lane End in Staffordshire;
