Sight size: 18.5 x 12 cm each The engineer Manesson-Mallet was "Maître de mathématiques des Pages de la Petite Ecurie" under Louis XIV. This charming work, divided into four parts - geometry, trigonometry, planimetry and stereometry - is lavishly illustrated with beautiful full-page engravings: Manesson-Mallet illustrates his points with examples chosen from French and foreign châteaux, mills, gardens and fountains. His scientific work is also a historical document on the state of construction at the very beginning of the 17th century, particularly in the Paris region.
