First edition of these memoirs attributed to Sénac de Meilhan (1736-1803). Anne de Gonzague de Clèves-Nevers (1616-1684), daughter of the Duke of Mantua, Princess Palatine, famous for her amorous and political intrigues, was one of the heroines of the Fronde. Her devotion at the end of her life earned her one of Bossuet's famous funeral orations (wear and tear, brown spots).
