Jacques BEURDELEY (1874–1954). The Road Through the Wheat, drypoint on laid paper. Signed in the print at the bottom left, numbered 8/60, countersigned in pencil beneath the intaglio on the right, stamped ‘Ed Sagot Éditeur Paris’. Title on the reverse (dim. 23x36 cm).
‘Ed. Sagot, Paris’ is the signature of the publisher and art dealer Edmond Sagot (1857–1917), a leading figure in the Paris print market in the late 19th century. He founded his firm in 1881 and became one of the leading specialists in original prints, lithographs and art posters.
