Joey Starr x Old Brothers New Grove XO is an exclusive collaboration between the French independent bottler, the rapper/actor and rum enthusiast Joey Starr, and Ludo AD, who designed the bottle. It was at the Gray’s distillery in Mauritius that Old Brothers selected six casks from five different vintages.
These rums from 1999, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2013, were produced following a 30-hour fermentation. They were distilled in a stainless-steel column still with a copper head. Aged in bourbon and cognac casks, they were then blended to create this XO cuvée.
This blend of cask-strength rums has not been chill-filtered. Its colour is natural, and the ageing process took place entirely in the tropics. Only 1,000 bottles were produced.
