Very nice old stuccoed oak frame, relacquered and gilded.

E. Prouvost was a painter born and died in Roubaix. He took part in local artistic life as a member of several artistic juries (Société photographique du Nord, Roubaix Universal Exhibition of 1911). The Musée de La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent in Roubaix has a major triptych of a Flemish seaside town by the painter.
