20th-century French school. “Obscure Landscape”. Pastel signed in the bottom right-hand corner: Kmsd or Kmfd. (Dimensions: 48.5 x 48.5 cm) Framed in a box frame with mirrors around the edges. Provenance: Collection of the late Mr Claude LAPP, headteacher of Charly secondary school, headmaster of the Lycée Julie Daubié in Laon and subsequently of the Lycée Gérard de Nerval in Soissons. A Commander of the Order of Academic Palms, he was awarded the National Order of Merit in 2008. Well known to the people of Soissons, he was active in the ‘V.O. en Soissonnais’ festival and the APEI.
