Description
Pair of gold ostrogothic earrings Each with a penannular ear wire, round in cross-section, one end attached to a hollow polygonal bead, the other end tapering, the four main faces of the bead with a group of seven granules, the eight smaller faces with groups of three granules (some lost), with wire twisted around the perforations. Spain, 5th or 6th century AD 3.2 x 3 x 2 cm. Provenance: Christie's sale # 1735, 7 December 2006, lot 321.
