Illuminated manuscript (8.25 x 5.75 inches, 212 x 147 mm), written in Urdu on European watermarked paper, 56 leaves, 9 lines per page written in Nasta'liq script in black ink, inner margins framed in black and red, 13 illustrations in gouache and gold.
India or Pakistan, early 19th century. The colophon seems to indicate 1228 (1813 A.D.).

The subject of this tale is the love story of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.
