José María de Eça de Queiros, O Mandarim Original manuscript of The Mandarin, a novel in Portuguese about the sin of avarice written by Eça de Queiroz (1845-1900). A Chinese-style gouache on the frontispiece. 190 pages divided into eight chapters. Dated at the end of the book Angers, June 1880. Probably intended for publication. The book was published in 1880 in Porto and Braga by Ernesto Chardron. Half-binding restored.
