Description
A manuscript leaf on paper, bearing a text arranged in two columns of 35 lines, written in fine erkat'agir script of small module, slightly cursive. The text appears to contain a fragment of an exegetical commentary or homily, with numerous quotations from the Acts of the Apostles.
From a palaeographical and codicological point of view, this folio is of particular interest because the writing belongs to a reduced form of rectilinear erkat'agir (iron writing), characteristic of medieval Armenian manuscripts. This script appears here in a transitional phase between the traditional monumental capital letter and a more cursive script, while retaining the angular, regular strokes typical of ancient erkat'agir. Several archaic letterforms are still visible. The folio can be dated to the 12th or 13th century.
