With the stamped ownership mark on the title page and an old handwritten ownership mark H. Kohl (dated 1845) on the flyleaf.
Slightly browned. Rare first edition.
Contains the prayers of Nerses the Gracious in classical and modern Armenian, ancient and modern Greek, Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, German, English, Dutch, Illyrian, Serbian, Hungarian, Turkish and Tartar (the last two in Armenian characters). By 1882, the collection included no fewer than 36 languages.
The Catholicos Nerses was also called Nerses of Hromgla (Rum-kala, the Roman castle), according to his place of residence, which in Latin means Nierses Clajensis.
